Just Checkin In!!!
Good Morning Everyone,
Just checking In!
I have been listening to some good music this week. Notably Olivia Newton-John's Australian released album Indigo:Women of Song. Of course I am partial to Olivia because she is my favourite singer, however this album is probably her best since 1994's Gaia
The album is basically covers of songs made by famous by other women. Olivia does justice to just about all the songs on the cd. Giving it her own touch of magic. The only song I really don't like is the old Karen Carpenter song "Rainy Days and Monday"...never liked the original ...don't like it here either. This album is definitely worth a listen.
Of course I have been listening to other songs aside from OLIVIA
Here is my Top 10 Pick of songs this week
1) Alfie- Olivia Newton-John
2) Get Right remix Featuring Fabolous-Jennifer Lopez
3) One Thing- Amerie
4) Ensemble- Corneille
5) Blood Appassionato- Pantera Saint-Montaigne
6) Let Me Love You -Mario
7)What's Going On- Will
8)Let's Get Blown- Snoop Dog
9 Talk to Me- Jill Scott
10)Amame-Juanes
I have had all of these songs in an out of my cd player this week...Great stuff...especially me....lolol...just kidding.
These days I find myself listening to a lot of Bossa Nova music. AOL has this wonderful Bossa Nova radio station that showcase a great amount of Bossa Artists. I was also turned on to this African Artist Thandiswa
While I haven't listened to the whole album yet...I am excited about her..The music has a touch of Pop and R&B while she sings in her native tongue. Most of the songs I have heard have been well produced. I can't wait to give you a full report next time!!!
I feel like talking about the recent events surrounding Terry Shiavo. She is Florida woman who's heart stopped briefly but long enough to cause brain damage. Her parents and husband are fighting to determine how she should die. The parents believe that because she is Roman Catholic, she would not want to be taken off of life support. Michael Shiavo contends that his wife told him that she would not want to be kept alive.
While I am far removed from what is going on. I can't help but feel sorry for Terry. She is unable to communicate her feelings to anyone. She is left with the only option of having lawmakers determine her fate. It is unfortunate that the Florida and US Lawmakers have chosen to remove life support rather than allow her to continue to live.Terry has been alive for 15 years on life support. While she continues to be in a vegitative state, She can sometimes respond(if even only by smiling or moving) and understands what is being said to her at certain times. That constitutes to me that she is ALIVE. I feel her basic constitutional rights have been violated and that pulling the plug on her is just as barbaric as a street criminal pulling out a gun or knife and killing an innocent person for nothing.
My thoughts and prayers are with Terry, her parents and immediate family. I hope that whatever "higher being" is watching down on the inadequacies of our legal system that, he/she have mercy on Terry's soul..when she passes.
Thanks For Reading
Peace Love and Music
